In today’s society most people would tell you they want to live a fit and healthy lifestyle, but don’t have the time for it. Well that’s where most people are mistaken. You can do a full body workout in as little as 20 minutes. A few laps on the treadmill or the elliptical are a great way to burn fat and build muscle or if a person just wants to tone, Pilates is a great option. All three of these can be done in 20 minutes or less.
So whether most want to admit it or not, they have time to work out. A person may think that’s really not for me or I don’t care for those machines, that’s the great thing about exercise there are so many options for people to choose from. They even make games out of exercise routines, such as dance games, for all you gamers out there. Believe me there is something for everyone, from the beginner to the expert.
Another reason people stay away from exercising is because they think they have to join a gym and that is way too expensive for them. A person doesn’t have to be a member at their local health club to exercise; your living room can be your gym. The one requirement is a good pair of cross-trainers or running shoes. So what are you waiting for? We have looked at most of the major reasons people don’t live healthy lifestyles and we have given arguments for all of them on how you CAN!
Now let’s look at the 2nd most important part to living a healthy lifestyle. This is the one that most forget about. The diet, yes, in order to be healthy you must have a healthy diet. I believe the example of putting coffee and cream in your gas tank and expecting it to run as if you put premium gas in it is a great example of how our bodies need the proper nutrients to function properly and run at their best. Now this is about the time that most would start to frown because automatically that first thought that comes to peoples’ heads is most likely something similar to “Oh no, now I have to start eating stuff that taste disgusting and that I will hate.” This is also a falsehood that has most people in its grip. There are all kinds of delicious foods and recipes that are healthy for you and you don’t have to give up your favorite food all together you just have to cut down on the unhealthy things you put into your body and increase the healthy things, such as fruits and vegetables. A person must have a balanced diet to go along with their fitness routine in order to obtain maximum results. You can do a routine while watching your favorite show on television or even after work to help you relax. Now most people would say, “Ok, it’s time to get fit, but how do I begin?”
Well some easy tips are:
1.) Drink lots of water and limit your caffeine intake,
2.) Don’t eat after 7pm;
3.) Place a set of hand weights next to the television;
4.) Set goals for yourself and when we say goals we mean realistic goals. Expecting to lose 20 pounds in one week is not a realistic or a healthy goal.
5.) Have a person that will hold you accountable to working out and might even work out with you.
6.) Work out 3 to 5 times a week and track your results. When a person sees their progress it motivates them to do more.
7.) Above all NEVER give up! If you get off track just pick up where you left off and keep going.
