A lot of people have stubborn fat that they want to lose, especially in the belly area. Many want to burn belly fat fast because it is a very noticeable place on the body, and clothing tends to fit poorly when there are ¨jelly rolls¨ or ¨love handles¨ in the way. Studies have also shown that excess abdominal fat increases a person’s risk of heart disease. These are very good reasons to burn belly fat, and there are many ways that one can accomplish this goal.

Fat is the same substance no matter where it lives in the body, so one type of fat will not react differently than other types to diet and exercise. It may be slower to budge in some areas, however. There are many different body type and shapes, which is why some people carry weight in their mid sections and others in the hips and rear end. If a person has a shape that collects fat in the middle, this area will seem to respond slower to weight loss attempts. The 4-Hour Body: An Uncommon Guide to Rapid Fat-Loss, Incredible Sex, and Becoming Superhuman

Change of Lifestyle and Eating Habits

There is no magic way to lose fat from only the stomach area.  The best way to burn belly fat is to create a plan for general fat loss. One should evaluate his or her current eating habits first, and exchange the unhealthy foods for healthier choices. Processed foods are laden with sodium, sugar, and hydrogenated fats. Excess sodium creates water retention for a lot of people, which will add to the puffy appearance around the waistline. Sugar is known to contribute to fat storage for many reasons. Any sugar that is not used by the body is converted to fat. The body also burns sugar first as fuel before moving on to the fat stores. If there is plenty of sugar available to use, the body will not burn fat and any left over sugar will then be stored, adding to the problem.

Low carb diets are popular for fat loss, but they are not appropriate for everyone. Carbohydrates are necessary for the body to have energy, but they should be complex carbohydrates like whole wheat bread and fruits and vegetables. Carbohydrate pros and cons are debated heavily, but an individual should choose an eating plan that he or she can sustain.

Foods That Burn Belly Fat Fast

By cutting out or at least limiting processed foods, a person allows the body to start burning the stored fat sooner. Eating whole foods will provide nutrients that the body can digest and use without adding unnecessary sugar and salt. Whole foods are natural, unprocessed foods like produce, raw meat, and whole grains. People who buy these foods and prepare their own meals can limit unwanted chemicals as well as the sodium and sugar.

There are actually foods that burn belly fat fast. Not surprising they are whole foods, like oat meal, fruits, eggs, and olive oil. Fiber and protein are important nutrients that will make a person feel fuller for longer periods. Eating unsalted nuts in small amounts provide protein and keep the munchies away. Having eggs for breakfast instead of sugary cereal provides protein and vitamin B12, which helps the body use fat for fuel.  All dietary fat is not bad. Using a little olive oil when cooking provides the fat one needs, and it helps the body feel satisfied with smaller meals. Oatmeal and berries are excellent sources of fiber that do not have excess sugar.Planters Trail Mix, Nuts And Chocolate, 1.25-Ounce Packages (Pack of 42)

Types of Exercise For Fat Loss

Cardiovascular exercise is good for the heart, lungs, and every system in the body. It also burns fat when done regularly for up at least 30-45 minutes. An hour of exercise a day is ideal for most people, but it does not have to be hard-core running or a gym workout. One can simply take brisk walks to get the heart pumping. There are many ways to get cardiovascular exercise, and one should chose activities that are enjoyable so he or she will continue to do them.

Strength training is also shown to be helpful for fat loss, which equates to shrinking a stubborn midsection. While spot reducing has been proven ineffective, overall strength training will build more muscle, which uses more calories and allows the body to burn fat quicker. One can benefit from using weights or resistance bands to build strength. Classic moves like push-ups, squats, and lunges will condition muscles using body weight for resistance. Crunches are one of the best tummy flattening exercises, but they do not burn belly fat. They will strengthen the abdominal wall and improve posture, which can make a person look slimmer almost immediately. The fat around these new muscles will shrink with regular exercise and a healthful diet, however.

My decision to lose weight and melt stubborn belly fat came about in a very unexpected way. I was very surprised when my doctor informed me that I had developed impaired blood fasting sugar. If this condition is not corrected it could develop into type 2 diabeties within 10 years.
I have always been a very active person and I thought that my eating habits were healthy. It turns out being reared in the south that my diet included way too many carbohydrates. So I began to read and study everything I could find about proper diet, exercise and disease prevention. I started to eat right and developed an exercise program that I could live with. At this point I have lost 28 pounds and lowered my blood pressure to 120 over 80. I did this within 6 months time. I feel so good about myself because I know that this new lifestyle will be permanent.

As I was loosing weight, eating healthy and studying I ran across an article about six pack abs. This made me begin to think. Could I actually do it? Is it possible? I have to loose weight and melt stubborn belly fat anyway. So I decided to pursue that goal. Now I am more motivated than ever to continue this new healthy and fun lifestyle.

The most surprising thing that I learned though is the importance of drinking water. To lose weight and melt stubborn belly fat, water is the key, along with proper diet and exercise.

So how does drinking water help a person to lose weight and melt stubborn belly fat?

Water alleviates hunger. It naturally suppreses the appetite. Not enough fluid consumption can cause over eating. Your brain can not tell the difference between hunger and thirst if there is not enough water in the body. You may think that you are hungry when in actuality you are thristy.

Because water fills you up and has zero calories, it can help you to lose weight and melt stubborn belly fat. Drinking water will make you feel full therefore you’ll eat less.

You should always try to replace Sodas, juices, shakes and all calorie laden beverages with water. I keep a thermos bottle filled with water and ice at all times. This helps me to cut down on calories tremendously. It also helps me to stay focused on my goal to loose weight. I just sip the water while working or playing. I am so glad that this has become a habit for me.

Water will increase your metabolism. The findings are reported in the December issue, 2003 of The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. The researchers Michael Boschmann, MD, and colleagues from Berlin’s Franz-Volhard Clinical Research Center tracked energy expenditures among seven men and seven women who were healthy and not overweight. The subjects, after drinking approximately 17 ounces of water, increases the rate of burning calories by 30% within the time frame of 30-40 minutes.

A person who increases his water consumption by 1.5 liters a day would burn an extra 17,400 calories, for a weight loss of approximately 5 pounds in a year. An increase in metabolism means an increase calorie burn and thus fat loss.

How Many Glasses of Water Should You Drink Each Day?

One rule of thumb is to drink eight 8 oz. glasses of water every day or approximately 2 liters. While this is not a bad idea, some experts believe that you should estimate the amount of water you need by taking your weight in lbs. and dividing that number by 2. This will give you the number of ozs. that you should drink each day. As an example, if you weigh 210 lbs, you should drink at least 105 ozs. of water per day.

If you are exercising or you are outside and it is hot you may want to increase the basic water requirement by a few more glasses.
In fact when you are exercising, you should drink another 8 oz. glass of water for every 20 minutes that you are active.

So in conclusion we can certainly see why drinking plenty of water on a daily basis can result in weight loss and thus melt stubborn belly fat. It has been said that a new habit can be formed in 21 days. In my case that has happened and I am so thankful that it did. I have found that sipping water is one of the best ways to keep my mouth busy without adding extra calories. And in case if you are wondering, Yes I have been successful in melting my stubborn belly fat. I am now a proud owner of those beautiful, healthy six – pack abs. And more importantly I am also very happy to be free of that dreaded impaired blood fasting sugar.
