Many people decide that they need to lose weight.  For many losing weight is necessary to maintain good health, but there are many other reasons why people begin a fast diet to lose weight.  Sometimes the reason for choosing a fast diet plan is merely to look better, while for others the reason is to feel better about themselves and the way that they are managing their lives.  Whatever the case, there are as many fast diets plans as there are reasons to want one.

For the majority of people losing weight should be a process that involves careful eating and regular amounts of exercise.  But there are cases where fast weight loss is a byproduct of the fast diet plan that is being used to achieve other goals.  Those fast diet programs are used to detoxify the system, perhaps to combat  a drug or alcohol addiction In some cases, fast diet plans are actually prescribed by medical professionals as necessary for certain medical treatments.

There are many examples of fast diets.  Some include use of drugs in pill of liquid form and some are just simple, austerity diets.

One fast diet plan that is a truly austere form of dieting is the Lemonade Diet.  This diet is essentially a detoxification plan for cleansing the body.  Basically in the Lemonade Diet one drinks only lemonade made from the some juice of fresh lemons, some natural sweetener like maple syrup or agave juice and with a small amount of cayenne.  There are many testimonies from doctors about the beneficial results from a seven, fourteen or twenty day lemonade fast diet.

Far less radical is the F.A.S.T Diet.  F.A.S.T stands for Families Always Succeed Together, and is a diet plan invented by a family group all of whom needed to lose weight, had tried to lose weight and had always failed.  The F.A.S.T Diet is based on mutual support toward a common goal among a group of people working together.  It includes all of the essential elements of any fast diet.  Proper eating, regular exercise and helping each other through mutual encouragement, regular group weigh-ins and camaraderie are important parts of The F.A.S.T Diet.  The book by Tony Dean describes his family’s experience using this successful fast diet plan, and is a healthy way to lose weight.

While everyone who has made a decision to lose weight may want to find the perfect fast diet it may be that the best fast diet is one that helps people to lose weight in a wholesome way that may use a fast diet but not a quick one.
