While there is no one magic vitamin that will stop the aging process, there seems to two vitamins that are high on the list of anti-aging vitamins.  These vitamins include vitamins C and K.

Scientific studies on the benefits of vitamins C and E as anti-aging vitamins are extensive and while research is an on-going process, it seems clear that the value of these two vitamins in the anti-aging battle is without question.  Here are some of their values as anti-aging vitamins.

Vitamin C is perhaps unique among all vitamins.  Its worth has been proven for centuries.  Everyone has heard how the vitamin C found in fresh, juicy oranges fought off the scourge of scurvy in long distance sailors in the time of sailing vessels.  Most of us were raised by mothers who preached the value of vitamin C in the prevention and cure of the common cold.  Now while there is absolutely no scientific proof that Vitamin C is a cure for anything, it is well known scientifically that   Vitamin C is one of the anti-aging vitamins that helps fight the effects of age related dry skin.

Other studies have indicated that taking vitamin C may fight off the possibility of heart attacks and strokes.  In Finland a ten year study involving more than 300,000 people showed that taking Vitamin C as one of a group of anti-aging vitamins reduced the risk of cardio-vascular disease by as much as twenty-five percent.

Vitamin K is a vitamin that has for too long slipped through the cracks of recognition for being the terrific anti-oxidant vitamin that it is.  Modern science has discovered that Vitamin K helps reduce the chances of the onset of osteoporosis and heart disease.  In addition, scientific studies have shown that Vitamin K reduced the amount of damage to heart valves in some heart disease patients, as well as reduced the inflammation of certain other age related disease.  There is also evidence in some research that use of Vitamin K can help in the prevention and control of diabetes, making Vitamin K one of the true anti-aging vitamins.

So Vitamins C and K seem to be true anti-aging vitamins. They have both been scientifically proven to provide benefits combative to the aging process.  Vitamin K is known to be a major factor in blood coagulation. In fact the “K” in Vitamin K comes from the Danish word Koagulation.  The vitamin was originally discovered by Danish researchers.  But because of its coagulative properties, Vitamin K should not be taken when taking blood thinners. Vitamin K is not stored in the body so there appears to be little else to be concerned with.

Few if any restrictions apply to the use of large amounts of Vitamin C. Both Vitamin C and Vitamin K are true heavy weights in the arena of anti-aging vitamins.
