Liver Detox

The liver is the body’s most important tool for cleansing the body of unwanted toxins and waste. The liver is also a warehouse and factory of vitamins, amino acids, proteins, fat and glucose. Two different phases of detoxification are performed in the liver. The liver works with other digestive organs like the gallbladder. You are probably familiar with the possibility of getting a kidney stone, well it is possible to have portions of the liver system blocked by stones too, making that portion of the liver ineffective for cleansing purposes. This can further complicate optimal function of the liver and promote backup and storage of undesirable toxins and waste.

The liver is a factory as noted above, and it may warehouse not only vitamins and glucose, but also toxins. There are many options to help detoxify the liver:

  • Milk thistle
  • Vitamin C
  • B-Complex
  • Magnesium
  • Zinc

All these components work together to support release of stored toxins in the liver. It is best to do a kidney cleanse first, then the liver cleanse. Make sure you drink a lot of pure water, at least 8 to 10 eight ounce glasses a day to support the process.

Have you done a cleanse before?
