Supersizeyourhealth tip #7 Step Up The Exercise
Do you have a favorite activity that you do every day?
Exercise doesn’t have to be a bad word. Given how many of us sit in cubicals all day or stand in one place (like me) it is essential to give your body a workout. Exercise is more than running, aerobics, and swimming. My personal favorite is a Precor Elliptical Machine. We have one in our basement at home. The great thing about having a piece of equipment at home is it is flexible. I enjoy the Precor because it is low impact and I can use it any time of day like after my son is in bed. I have never been much of a traveler to a gym, plus I don’t like taking time away from my family. I started out doing 20 minutes three times a week and built up to around 30 minutes five times a week. You can adjust the tension and difficulty and make your workouts more challenging. Once you knock that out you can add simple pushups and crunches to work core muscles.
I am at the point now that know how much I can eat in a day to maintain a target body weight. If I over indulge one day I know I need to hit the Precor harder to make up for it. Keep in mind that there are many options for exercise, you should chose a variety of things you enjoy. It could be walking, swimming, yoga, running, gardening etc….
