Why is heart disease the biggest killer in the United States?
Do you know what puts you at risk for heart disease? You can take a short quiz over at Health.com and learn about risk factors that have impact on heart disease. After the quiz you can get an explanation of each question. It is short and concise, not a long read. It might make you stop and think about your daily habits and the stress you put yourself through.
It really bothers me that heart disease is such a problem in our society today. It should be no surprise to you that we bring most of the problems on ourselves with the types of foods that we consume on a daily basis. We Americans love our convenient foods and our quick meals. Sometimes the desire for a quick meal can lead to lower quality meals deficient in fruits, vegetables, fiber and other basic nutrients. Nutrients that are essential to maintain a healthy cardiovascular system.
Processed foods and “Fast Food” have little to no nutritional value and are long on low quality fats, cholesterol, salt content and preservatives.
What do you think of the quiz?
